Doris Thews has 30+ years in the fitness Industry. Doris started as a college athlete to Divisional Director for a large US Health Club chain and now owns a fitness consulting business, Team Thews. Doris represents and leads several fitness brands.  She is Program Director for Indo-Row and ShockWave, Senior Master Trainer and Global Mentor for Schwinn and is on the International Development Master Trainer team for BOSU. Doris consults several leading brands on business and program development, in addition to presenting and lecturing internationally. She is known for her motivation and athletic coaching style. Recognized by Nike as a top 5 finalist in its nationwide Rockstar Search, he is a senior course instructor for TRX, a featured instructor for fitnessglo.com, and a master trainer for Schwinn Cycling, Jillian Michaels’ BodyShred and Total Gym. Alex has presented at national and international conferences and appeared in multiple video and print fitness projects. An LA-based professional dancer and acrobat, he has danced for Leeann Rhimes, international hip hop troupe Nike Culture Shock, the Reebok Performance Team, Disney and the NBA.

Fred Hoffman

Fred, the author of Going Global: An Expert’s Guide to Working Abroad in the International Fitness Industry and the recipient of the 2007 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year Award, has been working in the fitness and health industry for thirty years. A registered respiratory therapist, he holds a Masters Degree in Health Education and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
Fred is the former International Education Development Director for Qignition (Batuka). Previously, Fred was the Director of International Services for the Club Synergy Group, a network of award-winning specialists in the health club and spa industries.
Since 1991 he has worked for Reebok France in several capacities including Fitness Marketing Consultant, Team Manager and National Master Trainer. Additionally, he was a Global Master Trainer for Reebok International. Fred is also a Master Trainer for BOSU, TRX and Gliding. He served a four-year term on the IDEA Group Fitness Membership Committee, and is currently a member of the ACSM Health & Fitness Summit Program Committee.
Fred’s expertise has taken him to nearly 50 countries on six continents to speak at over 200 conferences and conventions, present workshops and master classes, conduct staff training, and consult on various projects. He has authored numerous articles, and has appeared in over 120 international journals, magazines and newspapers. In 2001 Fred was elected to the International Who’s Who of Professionals.

Time does matter and most participants are looking for a quick fix. With no equipment or one or two small pieces, this session will give you three separate workouts that can each be done in 20 minutes or less. Add in some of the I.T. factor (interval training), a little ingenuity and an overall plan and it is easy to create sessions that are efficient, full body, challenging workouts. As a bonus, any combination of the 20 minute workouts are perfect for a quick personal training session or group fitness class.

Melissa Layne, MEd, is a faculty member in the Physical Education Department of The University of North Georgia. She began her career 30 years ago with a BS and MEd in Physical Education . She has taught elementary PE, coordinated fitness programs for Royal Caribbean and Home Depot and managed an exercise program for a team of orthopedic surgeons. Melissa is the author of WATER EXERCISE (Human Kinetics 2015), a member of the educational faculty and a DVD featured presenter for SCW and ACSM.
